this bread and milk routine is getting old
April 1, 2014 7:04 AM

I overslept for work, and my boss was pissed! He showed up at my door asking where I was, but when he saw my appearance, he bolted. I'm afraid I've lost my job; my family's concerned because I can't provide for them -- but at the same time, they've boarded me up in my room. They're considering subletting out some space to make up for my lost income, but that means my bedroom becomes storage space for their crap. I'm literally crawling up the walls. How do I get my family to accept me as I am and return back into their lives?

You should talk to a lawyer who specializes in employment law and entomology. Depending on your local laws, it might be illegal to be fired just for having a few more legs than usual.

First, pick up The Gift of Fear. Then, you might want to go to urgent care to remove the apple from your back.

Look on the bright side: it could be worse.

Change can be difficult to deal with. I'm sorry this is bugging you.

I've recently heard a radio show that of someone who shared your predicament; he found some limited success in correspondence with an American doctor of some repute. Perhaps listening to it will help you.

Perhaps if you ferment your bread and milk rations, you can make something that will help you more creatively think your way out of the box. Best of luck.

Today, one does not necessarily have to leave the room to provide at least marginal income. Ask your boss if there is the possibility of telecommuting in some other company. You might have to take a significant pay cut, being in a position of weakness there and moving out of your skills, but if I'm reading your post right you're currently an excellent typist.

Oh man, there's nothing worse than a family that just walks all over you, and treats you like vermin. I'm guessing even the cleaning lady doesn't respect you?

You're a victim of a horrible plot, in my opinion.

Is there someone in your family you can try to get on your side? A sibling, maybe?
