How far can I go in a neighborhood dispute?
April 1, 2014 8:14 AM

I got into kind of a brawl with a neighbor the other day over the noise my housemates and I were making, and now his mother is coming after me. I've found something of hers that could really harm her. Granted, she is a real beast, but still I'm not sure what the laws are like for this kind of thing when the other guy started it.

Watch out; sounds like she could lose her head.

Take precautions.

Are you sure you've dealt with the neighbour? If he's violet, you may find that you need to disarm him.

A wise juriscounsel, a man guided by heaven
These things I may be, but of you I wot not
But of ill-planning monsters, in their vile deeds bloody
Noise-hating, dame-guarded, of these take no fear
Where the lord of the palace, thane with war-trappings girded
Hath bestowed his favor, you will dwell in the law
Thus the rites of the Geatmen, of the proud-mooded Danehold
Seek out your local Althing, I Art Not Thy Leigeman.

Stop making noise.

IANAL, but I believe the law is less concerned with who started it, and more concerned with who had a chance to break it off.

Have you tried holy water, garlic, and or crosses? Maybe that reflect sunlight?
