Time to DIY! Best way to keep away infection and promote healing in a body mod project? Specifically I'm thinking about an array of large metal pins arranged around my face and head, sort of a...nail-fro? Not asking if it's a good idea, thanks, just looking for practical medical advice. And please don't tell me to check with the BME forums, I already got banned twice for being too hardcore for those carebear jerkwads.

Specific medical papers would be helpful as well; I'd be happy if you have such cites to show me.

Dude, pins are SOOOOO last century. We're up to eleven inch railroad spikes in the head. AT LEAST! Don't embarrass yourself with an outdated look.

It's sort of complicated; my job is basically an on-call thing with a lot of travel, so I never really know where I'm going to be one day to the next. They call, I come. So it's hard to box in any reliable location.
